About Garry Toop

After retiring from a technical career, I picked up my paintbrushes that I had not used since college. I am largely self-taught but have enjoyed help from artist groups such as the Prince George Artist’s Co-op and various workshops. My preferred medium is watercolour, which I use with the direct painting method to capture variations of light and colour found in nature.

I am an outdoor enthusiast who is inspired by the natural beauty around me. I am constantly on the lookout for that special image that reflects my appreciation of life’s adventures. Through the creative lens that painting offers, I am able to relive my life’s precious moments, albeit my greatest reward and motivation is when others enjoy my work.

Garry resides in Kelowna, British Columbia and is an active member of The Federation of Canadian Artists.
